Better not try.
I screwed up my LED chain because it's not so easy to get it working properly afterwards. I had to keep cutting/splicing and they never held up very well. Once I got the lights working outside of a set, they were a different color. I pointed them in the right direction. Since you can only cut in certain places, I lost about 12 feet and gave up a long strand. Now I have two power cords on the wall that look clunky.
