I bought these to brighten up corners with an LED strip I bought for the back of a flat screen TV. They did their job and the bonds were strong. No tricks were required and all colors on my LED strip light up when selected. Keep in mind that while the process is simple, it is also lengthy and requires attention to detail. How you trim the LED strip and clean the contacts of any waterproof coating and/or adhesive backing is paramount to achieving a secure connection. I performed my "surgery" under a lighted 3x magnifying lens and used only sharp scissors to cut the LED strip and a fingernail to remove the waterproof and adhesive backing where needed. I removed both about 1/2" from the pins to make sure they didn't get in the way of fitting them into the connector. Now for the tricky part. If you look at the connector you'll see that it's on There is a small protrusion on each side. These act as guides when inserting the LED strip. The strip should go UNDER these guides and then UNDER the four silver pins on the connector. It should be snug and requires smooth, gentle pressure until the pins on the LED strip are completely UNDER the silver pins on the connector. Direct and sustainable way. You will both feel and hear when the LED strip is installed correctly. Then simply close the cover of the connector and you are done ( assuming you have matched the positive lead of the LED strip to the positive lead of the connector).
