Although the earring is well made and beautiful (I got a lot of compliments on it) it is difficult to put on and it flakes up to fasten 3 out of 5 stars. Instead of the post being attached to the opal and the ball being attached/detachable, the opposite is true: the ball is attached to the post and the opal is attached/detachable. While this may not be a problem for others, it made piercing and securing much more difficult for me. It also makes me question how reliable the earring is overall. After about a month of wearing it detached and fell apart. Luckily this happened while I was sleeping so I still had both pieces of the earring and was able to put it back on but starting at 20 minutes in the morning to get a piercing isn't really how I want mine to be in the morning has passed.
