After the Raspberry Pi Programming Camp for Kids, the number one request was to be able to program games. By looking at what's out there to get kids interested in coding, MakeCode Arcade has become a viable platform. When making a game, just go to https://arcade.makecode.com/ and start coding or find an example. This is an impressive tool. Meowbit allows students to download games they create onto a portable device. This was easy to do on my laptop via USB. No drivers need to be installed. Sending code to Meobit worked directly from the web browser. When classes resume at school my 8 year old son will be able to take it to school and show other kids his creation. As a bonus, the pins on the bottom of Meowbit can be connected to servos and sensors thanks to its micro:bit compatibility. A battery was also included. Sometimes igniting a spark in a child is enough to make it work. This laptop does it the easy way. Today it is one of the best tools for teaching programming.
