Review on Diamond (Original) SRH77CA Dual-Band High Gain Handheld Antenna: Enhanced Reception from 120~900 MHz, 440 MHz Gain, 10W Power, 15" Length by Deon Sweeney

My Yaesu FT1D is a key tool in my CERT. We equipped our entire 10-strong amateur radio group with this radio. Some of us had problems with the Rubber Ducky antenna and switched to others. My solution was Diamond SRH77CA. For missions like search and rescue, fires, and EmOps drills, it's worked quite well so far. We had just finished a tornado drill when we decided to switch to the FRS channel for the event and the antenna worked well both inside and out. The length takes some getting used to as it's about 3 times longer than the original, but this is operator training only. A good antenna that does what it is supposed to do.
