I've seen reviews on here about screws that were the wrong size and difficult to fit. This prompted me to do a thorough inspection for damage and missing parts. The first thing I noticed was that the package appeared to have been re-taped, indicating a possible earlier return. When I opened the box, I noticed that some of the pieces were re-zipped, indicating a possible return. I inventoried the parts, particularly the screws, and found that all parts were intact. So I laid out the different components according to their order during the assembly process. I assembled the base first without tightening the screws to allow for the flexibility needed to line up the parts properly. Then I laid it on the ground to allow gravity to align the base properly and tightened all the screws on the base. I then attached the center column section to the base, noting the notch in the center section that required the longest part of the locking bolt to face up. Then I reassembled the top section knowing that all the strut pieces are independent of each other so I didn't have to loosen their bolts but tighten them as I went along. I put the top ball in (it was a bit crooked but straightened out when tightened). I then place the top back onto the center piece and mount the long end of the stop bolt into the recessed post. I tightened the bars tightly and I was done. The stand is very durable and worth the money. I was able to benefit from the fact that it was a return (if there was one) and a real person made sure all components were included and undamaged. I hope my review helps.
