I like the idea that it can be folded. I bought this as a hiking option. I think I'll go with the stainless steel cone that I reviewed. First, the nylon filter allowed more residue to get into the pot, and therefore the cup, than the stainless steel cone. But smaller than my old nylon cone filter. I would recommend a closer bond. Second, it weighs more than a SS cone. 1.15 ounces vs. 0.561 ounces. For those of you who noticed, that's more than double the weight. I really expected stainless steel to weigh more than plastic. But the ring is thick and heavy, too complicated even for me. My DIY ring/platform is a soda cap from a local fast food joint. I used a straw hole to put a rubber hose through and then secured it with an o-ring. But it weighed 2.00 ounces and I wanted to use something lighter and more foldable. Pros: It folds and is compact. easy to clean. I can turn it over and put soil in my compost bin. A little backwash and you're done. It is suitable for Stanley Adventure Pot, Flask Cup, Regular Cup.
