I love the colors and the amount of white light this baby gives off. But one of the SMD LEDs wasn't soldered properly, so a cluster of 3 RGB LEDs didn't light up. Right in the middle of the lane. bad! Luckily I have an inspection tube and SMT soldering equipment so I was able to re-solder the misplaced LED and the problem was fixed. Most people would have to return these or live with the missing piece of paint. Remember that this band requires a lot of power. So you need a powerful power supply. My white channel didn't turn off after about 30 minutes of use. Some current measurements showed that the white channel drew about 3.3A of current, and the controller I used (the Alarmpore RGBW 40-key IR remote) was only rated for 2A per channel. I opened it up and verified that the white channel control transistor has failed (in this case it's shorted out, so the white stays on no matter what I ask). So note that you must use a controller rated above 3.3A per channel or never run a white bar at brightness above 50%. you have been warned Also, the adhesive on the strip I received was NOT 3M. It was the character "M" (laughs). I had to switch to a much stronger double sided tape of my own making to keep this strip attached to the underside of the wood shelf. The picture and the ad said "3M" but mine didn't.
