I had a similar plastic holder that worked fine. Until the plastic around the tripod attachment point failed. I don't want to risk the welfare of my iPad so I bought this mount. Yes, it costs a little more than its plastic counterpart, but I'm sure it will last much, much longer. the heading indicates the positioning of the holder. I use mine to hold my iPad in landscape mode and need to be able to quickly get the iPad in and out. Some of the photos in the Revain listing show a set screw underneath the iPad, which for me meant I had to use the drawstring lever on the back to lock and unlock the iPad. After experimenting a bit, I found that the adjustment screw should be above the iPad. I roughly matched the width of the holder to the iPad, attached the lever on the back, and used a screw to hold the device securely. If I now have to free the iPad, I simply turn the screw a few turns. once. Easy! I don't currently use Arca Rails, but their built-in features allow future flexibility.
