So many socks are advertised as "Merino” but some of them contain shamefully low percentages of this fiber. So if you’re shopping around, make sure to find the actual specification - - I’ve seen socks labeled "Merino” with as little as 4% actual wool in them, with the rest a hodgepodge of synthetic fibers. Not my idea of quality. If you want a medium-heavy sock that offers tangible cushioning and firm support without strangulating your legs, these are great. I would not call them elegant, but they are highly functional, and anyway, they’re either in your shoes or concealed by your pants legs. Great great value for the money. They have survived high temperature washing and drying without any ill effects. I love them! True to size.
