I did a lot of research before purchasing this dehydrator. I am completely satisfied! I feel like the stainless steel shelves are a step up and I really wanted them. Other brands are plastic shelves unless you bump the price up to $500 for an Excalibur. It also has 6 plastic inserts with small holes that are perfect for dehydrating my sprouted wheat to be ground into flour. Today I used 3 fruit bowls to dry bread that I had already crumbled. In the future I will dehydrate bread slices, then crumbs. I'm excited. Saves space in my freezer where I used to store crumbs. Can now be stored in a canister in the closet. I grow my own herbs and dehydrate the excess. Sometimes we don't eat our fruit fast enough, so we look forward to drying off the excess. It is so much fun! I love that it's so quiet! Much quieter than my microwave. Not disturbing at all! So happy with my choice. I love that it has everything I need, even silicone pot holders! I love the temperature difference to accommodate what I want to dehydrate. And he programs until 7.5 p.m.
