To date I have purchased and assembled three ROKR 3D mechanical puzzles: Locomotive LK701, Marble Parkour (Marble Run) LG501 and Marble Climber (Marble Run) LG504. I also got a pendulum clock LK501 which I have yet to assemble. The description of these sets states "The best gifts for adults and teenagers aged 14+." To state my point of view, when I started these projects I was retiring from professional life as a mechanic/machinist for civil instruments (optics). , who worked in the US Navy. So I'm not totally unfamiliar with the mechanics and design of physical objects. The detail quality of these kits is excellent. Removing the pieces from their sheets was easy, as was cleaning the little tails where they were attached.2. Assembly was easy for the most part too. The instructions for most of the steps are clear. Some of the more difficult steps weren't too much. Using the YouTube videos available I was able to figure out what to do. For some reason I couldn't find the promised assembly video on the ROKR website. For this reason I believe it would be optimistic to give these kits to a teenager aged 14+ to assemble without assistance.3. Many parts require significant effort to assemble. This would not be a problem were it not for the fragility of some parts. This combination causes some damage. While some parts on the sheets have duplicates, the ones I broke during assembly were not duplicated.4. Once assembled, the models will work well if properly "tuned". However, they are a bit fragile. Suggestions: If I were to attempt to build another of these sets, as I will eventually do with pendulum clocks, I would make a scale paper copy of each of the detail sheets. If/when one of the parts breaks, it is possible to repair the part with the remaining plate material of the part. For example, I had to make some lifting parts for the LG504 "Tower Coaster" to make it work. It would also be desirable to have a tube of superglue to fix some parts. that break during assembly and hold parts that aren't as tight as they should be. I really enjoyed building these kits and with the above caveats I would recommend them to anyone who enjoys DIY and enjoys building. Things. I hope that this summary of my experiences will be useful and interesting and that those who choose these kits will enjoy them as much as I have. Jeff Steele
