Very good kettle. I used to use cheesecloth that I put in a pot. This method created a huge mess and a bag of gauze that I had to dry. This kettle keeps the loose leaf material in the liquid without touching or scalding the bottom. Clear glass is nice for seeing the efficiency of what you're doing. We bought this pot because the lids of the ceramic pots we kept getting broke. The glass material that makes up this pot appears to be very strong and we haven't broken it yet. You can't stir or dip this pan well, but that wasn't a problem. If you fill the cage completely with material you will need to fill the pot completely with water to allow it to diffuse properly or if you need the half pot then fill the cage only half full. It's really easy to clean. Just take the cage out and throw it in the trash, rinse it in the sink and turn it upside down to dry. I am very happy with this purchase.
