Must return it. I bought it hoping to get the maximum speed out of a 2TB Crucial X8 external SSD plugged into the PS5's rear USB-A port. Harbor. According to Sony, the PS5's rear USB-A ports are USB 3.1 Gen 2 with 10Gbps support. I'm not sure if it's the cable, but unfortunately that combination didn't work. PS5 could see the Crucial X8 but couldn't convert it to external USB storage. After successfully setting up the Crucial X8 without this adapter (via the front USB-C port), I tried again using the adapter and the SSD in the rear USB-A port. This time, the PS5 could recognize the Crucial X8 as external USB storage, but couldn't transfer apps or games to it; failed immediately when this write attempt was made. Crucial included a USB-C to USB-A adapter with the X8, but the documentation states that the maximum speed when using the adapter is only 3.1 Gen1 (5 Gbps). Without a PC with a Gen 2 port to run Speedtest on the Crucial adapter, I can't confirm if I'm getting the full X8 speed I was hoping for with this Electop 3.1 Gen 2 adapter.
