This is the third time I have bought this product. My first was in April 2018, my second was in July 2018 and my third was in July 2019 (I actually got a year of it!). My original top loading dishwasher part broke because my toddler was hanging on it causing the front wheel to snap off. I bought a replacement and it broke very soon - about a week later. The plastic holding the wheel in place was cracked, just like the original failure. I was still able to mount and use the wheel, it just wasn't as secure as it used to be and would often slip out. I kept using it as is, assuming my toddler had broken it again, and didn't order a replacement until I was sure my toddler knew for sure the dishwasher wasn't a toy. Washing machine and place only the top shelf or lightweight plastic baby carriers on it. No glass items. Nothing heavy and I would fill the top shelf side with the original whole piece first. When I bought the second one, I was very annoyed that it broke after about 4 months of my gentle use. My kids learned to walk around the dishwasher like it was infected with the plague and knew not to touch it unless the dishes were clean. It was around this time that I injured my wrist and had to switch my family to paper plates and bowls as washing up became painful for me. I went from laundry almost every day to 2 times a week. I think that's why the second replacement lasted a full year and not because it was any better but because I was getting along with it and ran the dishwasher less. and the upper strut side gear slipped out. He was surprised that I was limping around without him knowing (because he had forgotten that I had complained again a few months ago about the washing machine breaking). When he got a part to inspect, he barely touched a connected impeller and it fell out broken. When we received the new replacement (#3), it looks identical to the original page; Except that like the first two spares, the wheels were white instead of gray like the original. However, when he removed the broken one and held it up against the original that came with the washing machine, we found that the part had cracks all over it and the plastic looked like it was decomposing (smoothed edges from water on it, discolored). white, faint all over - even in reinforced areas, breaks in half with very little effort). The original part looks as if it has not aged and will last for many years to come. In our opinion, this item is made out of cheaper plastic that isn't rated for the high temperature water that the dishwasher constantly pours out. There are so many items that say "dishwasher safe" but they melt a little more each time you wash them. This item is made of such plastic. This part is not designed to last the life of the dishwasher. The exchange is easy and only takes 5 minutes. It fits perfectly. Except for the white rims, it is identical to my original. As a dishwasher patch, it lasts for several months. I think that's why I gave it a 2 star rating. I do not recommend this product but I have not done my research to find the best one and if I do buy it again it will only be so long as I can find a quality replacement part.
