I just installed these grilles on my daughter's windows and have a little tip for those who are installing them themselves to save you time and frustration. Tip: When you take everything out of the box, look for screws. and as soon as you see them, throw them away! Either melt down in the trash or melt down in Mt Doom. Just do something so they never see the light of day again. Screws are the worst scrap metal. I immediately removed the heads with a screwdriver to install them even after pre-drilling. Some broke as soon as I made a few turns. Wouldn't trust them to fix a baby. Real tip: To be honest, save yourself the hassle and be sure to use quality screws from specialist retailers. I used stainless steel (general purpose/lumber) torx screws. Much more powerful and easier to use. The bars themselves feel solid, but that doesn't help if you can't mount them or they fail at the contact point.
