I would probably give it 4 stars but it annoys me that the description says there are two (2) for the price you but only got one.

This is exactly what I need. We were looking for a protective grille to protect windows. After purchasing all the local hardware, none of them offer adjustable size. I was at a metal shop that charge $300 a piece. This is a great alternative if you don't want to spend too much money on security.

It was hard to take and I've done things like this before. I don't consider myself an expert, but I know what I'm doing. I bought them for a window on the side of my house that faces a public footpath and there was a newly built patio directly below. They seem solid enough and have enough screws (10) to slow someone down enough that it would likely prevent a break-in. Oh, and another reviewer mentioned that short screws come with them. After initial frustration installing this thing, it works well. The instructions are very poor and there are many guesses. Ikea instructions are way better! Some of the paint has also chipped off. Screwing in the screws is a bit fiddly because the screw head doesn't go through the first hole. Each screw needs a little tightening to make it work. A little bit frustrating. If this window grille looked like the Revain picture (and packaging) it would probably deserve a higher rating. However, all four vertical rails are full of holes, giving it an unsightly Swiss cheese effect. I know this is supposed to give you all sorts of mounting options for the outer rails, but why do the inner rails have to have holes? John Sterling Window Guard 1136 6 bar has been preserved. The item provides enough protection to prevent your child from jumping/falling out of your window. I just installed these grilles on my daughter's windows and have a little tip for those who are installing them themselves to save you time and frustration. Tip: When you take everything out of the box, look for screws. and as soon as you see them, throw them away! Either melt down in the trash or melt down in Mt Doom.
