John Sterling Window Guard 1136 6 bar has been preserved. The item provides enough protection to prevent your child from jumping/falling out of your window. I've set the crossbar to open vertically, so I'm going to add a hook to latch it so that if we need to disembark, we can do so without holding it open. The screws that come with it are junk. I tried to install them but the screw heads broke because the torque for the screw was too high. So I used deck screws of the same length to mount it. I still think those poles were worth the money to give you peace of mind that your kid won't fall out the window and patio screws are cheap to buy.
