This product would be great. if only that worked as advertised on "ALL" Genie door openers.! VERY IMPORTANT ! Before ordering a new remote control, do the following: Make sure your Genie garage door opener has a learn or program button. Most but not ALL have this button so this remote will not work. I finally found a real genius remote that A) controls multiple normally closed contacts and B) is programmable with DIP switches (9 or 12). The house I just bought was built in 2004 so I thought it was safe to assume the openers were built about a few years ago (+/-) and had a learn/program button. Notified Genie Remote Customer Service Representative (via phone) with the model number and the problem of not being able to find the program/learn LEDs. After a few minutes he pointed out that some devices built after 1997 "DO NOT HAVE a learn button" and therefore this remote control cannot be used. Finally all is said and done. I contacted Genie (via email) looking for a remote that would work as described above. New correct remotes are on the way, I will check after programming.
