My Amcrest 8 camera unit no longer shows a video stream. After checking the camera, I found that the device was not receiving power. I decided to try this device to replace the power adapter. I read in the description that the device powers up to 5 or 8 cameras depending on the power consumption of the camera. I wasn't sure how much power my cameras were using, but once plugged in, all 8 cameras turned on instantly. I'm not sure what happened to the old PSU, but I'm glad it was a fairly inexpensive fix. As for the reviews saying they can't power all of their cameras, to be honest the description clearly says that depending on how much power your cameras require you won't be able to power all 8 cameras. You need to look for another adapter. ADVANTAGES • Inexpensive replacement • Comes with 8 camera power distributor (did not need to use as my previous one still worked fine) • Uses power supply (OEM power supply was built into connector); This can help avoid a crash like the previous one. CONS • You need to check your camera's wattage to see if it's enough to run all 8 cameras • Uses a bricked power supply (takes up more space) This adapter worked for me and I would recommend it if it met the specs corresponds to your camera.
