I like these little scales. I always buy cheap plastic that are good. But for a good starter, I wanted something more specific. In addition, it has a tare function. Simply put, place the container you are measuring on the scale first. Activate "Tare" and the scales are at 0! You are now measuring your ingredients or items, not the bowl. No more weighing a bowl or plate and then calculating the true weight of what's inside! (See image: the measuring cup is on, but the scale shows "0" after pressing the tare button to the right of the measuring cup!) And it can be set in grams or ounces. I know I've seen a lot of European recipes online, but I didn't feel like converting or estimating grams to tablespoons or ounces. Now I do not need! This scale can measure from 0.1 oz to 22 lb (2 g/3 g to 10 kg) in 0.1 oz increments. Not bad! Recommend this scale to the home cook!
