I have been using this laptop stand with my 17 inch laptop for a few weeks and it is very durable. It takes a lot of force to get your hands in the desired position, but that's good because they don't change position afterwards. I don't see a way to adjust the friction setting on my hands, but I only use it on my desk and keep it in the same position all the time. I like the laptop screen to be higher so I don't have to bend my neck to look at it. The non-slip pads work very well both under the stand (in contact with the table) and on my laptop. This is a simple but very effective design. Very happy with my purchase.
