This is a quality kit at a great price. Not the best material but it will do the job. If you're wondering which sensor to buy, I'm considering the 4GA version. The ampere charts usually state that a polymer insulated 4GA CCA core wire is good for around 60A continuous power supply (audio is less demanding), so even with a bad alternator and a dead battery at 12V that's 720W continually. With a normal voltage of 14.3 V, that is 848 watts. Of course, pushing the cable to the current limit will result in a large voltage drop, so it's best to keep it below the limit for amplifier safety and performance. A totally subjective estimate from a stranger, with little to no real scientific evidence: I'd say it's good enough for up to 500 watts RMS (aka 7,000,000 watts "peak" power if your amp is that applies). The audio forums have a million opinions for you if you want more, and from time to time someone will try to do real calculations. (Hint: Home audio and audiophile forums tend to be more scientific and technical than car audio forums, which are plagued by pseudoscience, myths, and "louder is all that matters". Speaker forums are even better. Have Don't be afraid of the math, when it comes to sound it's your friend.) The weak point in this set for me is the fuse holder. The lid is held in place by tiny, fragile latches. That's good enough, but position it so it doesn't get hit too often and try to open it as little as possible. To make matters worse, it's made of transparent plastic, which can't be made as strong as opaque plastic. If there's one thing that lets you down on this kit, it's the fuse holder. It's not bad, just not as good as the rest of the kit. The wire included in this kit is actually 4 gauge. Generic amplifier wiring kits often come with smaller cables, so this is probably the main issue when comparing this kit to something cheaper. The insulation is thick, if a bit soft. If it crosses sharp edges or fastening threads, protect the insulation with a split loom or multiple layers of cloth tape. The terminals are of typical quality, good enough for this price range. RCA cables are twisted pair, not shielded. Unlike differential transmission, RCA cable carries unbalanced signals, so twisted pair isn't very good for noise reduction here. It should minimize crosstalk, which improves dynamic range a bit, but in a car audio system this is unlikely to ever be heard. Noise is an important component and these cables are probably no worse or better than any other simple RCA cable in this regard. Some of the plastic-insulated connectors look very cheap, but the cable insulation looks and feels impressively good. Excellent standard specification RCA cables that are easier to work with than most. Overall this is a good set and good value for money. It's certainly better than what's on the shelves at most major electronics stores.
