Review on ๐ŸŽ’ Topeak MTX Trunk Bag EXP & DXP Bicycle Trunk Bag Rain Cover: Silver, Waterproof Protection, Compact Size by Brian Warmack

Keeps things dry but can be uncomfortable

I've been using this rain cover to keep my DXP bag dry during my 20 minute commute to work for the past few months. No complaints - it keeps everything perfectly dry (as far as I've noticed), easy to put on and take off. It can be used with or without side-fold saddlebags; The unused portion of the cover simply tucks in and holds on to the main elastic. It covers all surfaces except the bottom of the bag and the inside of the unfolded basket, but even those seem to stay dry. (Granted, I have a fully covered rear fender as well as a Topeak MTX Explorer trunk.) I'm a little worried that there might be a leak in the stitched seams, which aren't sealed in any way (I can see light leaking through the Holes around the seams when I hold it and look inside) but I didn't notice the actual leak. Please note that it is not possible to carry the bag with the lid; the cover covers the upper handle and the fastening of the shoulder straps.

Pros
  • Cycling
Cons
  • Low repairability
