A must-have for the Topeak MTX Carrying Case

The Topeak MTX Carrying Case is moderately water-resistant, making it a must-have case. I wasn't sure how waterproof it would be. I chose this setup for my bike ride as the current range of dry bags that can be used on a bike without a rack is very limited in terms of carrying capacity. Although the shell didn't fully cover the pockets, I didn't have any problems with water getting in during the two brief rain showers I rode through. Unfortunately, I can't say how it holds up during high tideโ€ฆ

Keeps things dry but can be uncomfortable

I've been using this rain cover to keep my DXP bag dry during my 20 minute commute to work for the past few months. No complaints - it keeps everything perfectly dry (as far as I've noticed), easy to put on and take off. It can be used with or without side-fold saddlebags; The unused portion of the cover simply tucks in and holds on to the main elastic. It covers all surfaces except the bottom of the bag and the inside of the unfolded basket, but even those seem to stay dry. (Granted, I have aโ€ฆ

Slim, functional and pleasant to use

I used some Vaude baskets for almost 18 years until the plastic fasteners gradually broke and this Topeak product became a replacement. A good thing! Would have switched long ago if I had known how well the MTX Trunk Bag EXP works. Here's the thing: I commute to work year-round in central Oregon. The temperature is sometimes below zero, snow and ice are quite common in winter (I ride on studded tires from December to April), temperature drops of 50-60 degrees in 8 hours are not uncommon even in

Fantastic combination

This test combines 3 Topeak products: Topeak Explorer Carrying Case, Topeak MTX Bike Carrier Bag EXP with hard shells and Topeak MTX EXP and DXP Bike Carrier Bag. Rain protection. I would give each of these products 5 stars individually, but I'm reviewing them together because as a set I highly recommend them. The stand is rock hard. Several reviewers mentioned having to bend their arms to fit their bikes, which almost baffled me. So glad I took the risk as I didn't have to bend over on my Trek
