This test combines 3 Topeak products: Topeak Explorer Carrying Case, Topeak MTX Bike Carrier Bag EXP with hard shells and Topeak MTX EXP and DXP Bike Carrier Bag. Rain protection. I would give each of these products 5 stars individually, but I'm reviewing them together because as a set I highly recommend them. The stand is rock hard. Several reviewers mentioned having to bend their arms to fit their bikes, which almost baffled me. So glad I took the risk as I didn't have to bend over on my Trek 7.2 FX. Easy to install and allows use of Topeak's overlay products. The suitcase is really great. I prefer to put things on a shelf than in a backpack because I hate sweating my back and then carrying a wet backpack with me. But so often when you attach things with a bungee it is very painful to tighten and then you spend the whole trip looking back to see if everything is there. With this setup it sits on the stand in about half a second and feels rock solid. The side panels fold completely into zipped compartments when not in use, which is fantastic. The main compartment isn't overly large, but has everything you would normally need to take to work. When transporting clothing, laptop, shoes, etc., the side walls must be used. When it's at full capacity, it's deceptively cavernous. Sometimes I don't realize how much stuff I've put in there until I take it off the bike to move it around. Fortunately, they include a shoulder strap for such occasions. The waterproof case fits like a glove whether you have both side panels open, just one or none. Plus, it folds down into its own integrated pouch that fits neatly into the mesh pocket on top of the trunk pouch, so it's always on hand when you need it. Overall, this pack makes my commute completely stress free and I'm very glad I bought all three. Fantastic work, theme.
