***DO NOT BUY*** if you don't have the tools to sharpen them and don't want to either. The pointed tabs on the clasp are large and very sharp, and the clasp is too tight. I know people complain about other collars detaching too easily, but after testing again I really don't think they will detach at all in the situations where a cat needs them (e.g. hanging from a branch stay) and can be fatal. From a safety point of view, this is definitely not optimal. As already mentioned, the ears of the cat head clip are tapered. I hoped this was just an exaggeration, but when I received it I found that it wasn't. They are very sharp. And the shutter itself seems stiff. There should be fasteners, but they don't come loose like they should. I know they have to have some resistance so the cat can't just rip them off like cats do, but it's more than that. Luckily I knew what I was getting into when I bought them. I have a Dremel tool with mini grinders at home, so I took them with the intention of grinding the ears so that the clasp is rounded on both sides. I also used a dremel to sand down part of the attachment mechanism so it would come loose as it should. On the plus side, they look great on my cat. I like that the loop can be removed. Sometimes I like to give the cat a break from excess fabric.
