Review on 🍚 Inomata Japanese Rice Washing Bowl: Efficient Side and Bottom Drainers for Clear Results by John Brazington

Well-made Rice Rinsing Basket

I only have one complaint about this Rice Rinsing Basket which I will address at the end. On the plus side, it's durable, well built, and the holes are the perfect size for rinsing without wasting rice grains. In addition, it has a built-in reinforced hanging hole for storage. My only complaint is that it has bottom drainage holes in addition to the drainage holes on the side, meaning it's impossible to stuff and turn the rice over to help release the starch. If I pour water in instead, it automatically drains from the bottom. This doesn't affect my ability to rinse the rice itself, but means I have to do it under the running water instead of the multiple fill, swirl and drain cycles I'm used to. Overall, though, I'm happy that rice that's washed and then cooked in my Zojirushi rice cooker is actually noticeably better than unwashed rice cooked in any other cooker.

Pros
  • Kitchen & Dining
Cons
  • Not as thick as the others
