Me: Musician for over 30 years. I fronted a rock band, sat first in a symphony orchestra, and performed with all kinds of bands. I work instrumentally and vocally, DJ and produce music. I spend more hours with headphones than anyone I know and I have a wide variety of headphones. I DJ with in-ear headphones, so I bought these for casual listening, backup/consumer recommendations for tracking and mixing, and gaming situations. with another electronic music artist and I need to listen to the network directly. I was hoping they would have enough sound quality to get the job done, but they would be cheap enough that I could use them as backups and not have to worry about leaving them at an event. Model Review: I purchased the Pro-30 Upgraded Standard Silver version. and brown. Good things first: These headphones sound great, especially for the price. As you might expect, they have a V-shaped "consumer" action, but not as extreme as the Beats or Monsters. It's actually pretty accurate if you're looking for reference tuning profiles for consumer gear, rather than "audiophile" or studio reference profiles. Soundstage and separation are good, clarity is good, mids are full and forward but balanced, highs are crisp but not piercing or hissing, and when the volume is cranked up the bass really rumbles without getting muddy. Overall, they're nice and warm, but still detailed, full, and not overly colorful. I don't think you can get better sound for this price, or even 3x this price. They may or may not meet audiophile standards (I don't see myself that way), but they definitely hit the hi-fi bar. They will also please any bass player without ruining the music. These are great headphones for everyday listening and with some EQ depending on your preferences they will come in handy for mixing or recording. I've found that hip hop and electronic dance music don't require any adaptations to produce music. Voting isn't skewed toward bass, but neither are thin, cold "reference" headphones. I actually like them a lot more than the AKG K92s which sell for $20-30 more and I like them better than the Monster DNA 40. I've also tried them as a DJ and played about half a set on them. No issues at all with this app, although after a few hours I switched back to earphones and as that is my preference I cannot give a full review specifically for DJ purposes. The two-way cable and audio pass-through features are very smart and very useful. I've found myself using it far more often than I thought I would as a built in headphone splitter for casual listening and movie watching with my partner. I've also used it connected to two audio sources to mix tracks from my DAW and listen to reference tracks from a music player. I also listened to music while on the phone. This is a brilliant feature! The fact that this price includes two detachable cables and a case is amazing. The ear cushions are incredibly soft and comfortable and provide a good seal. I can't overestimate the comfort of these ear pads. It's like a broken leather couch on your head. I can only describe them as "oily". These are the most comfortable pillows I have ever worn and I don't think you could find much better at any price point. The same applies to the wearing comfort of the headband. However, if you have big ears, they may not be suitable for you as the inner diameter of the cups is not that big. Perfect for my tiny ears and peanut head! They look very classy and I really appreciate the brown retro coloring and the matching cable. Cons: Build quality and quality control could be better. My pair has one side where the adjustment slits are nice and neat and one side where they're a bit loose and soft. It's not bad, but noticeable. Also, I've only had them a few weeks and have only used them a few times and been careful with them. Yesterday I was jamming with another DJ and went to remove the cable to fold them up and put them away. I properly tightened the knurled connector cover, not the cable or strain relief. The cover has come off the connector. I was a bit surprised to see that it was only held in place by a small amount of weak glue. Too bad because I actually thought the strain relief design looked pretty beefy. A few days later, the right-hand driver began to drop out at times. I hope I only caught one bad block and the overall durability of the brand is higher. Unfortunately I wouldn't use them as main cans for DJing. I don't think they hold up to heavy use. Perfect for backups or spares, for occasional home listening or as a budget tin. I will contact the company to see if they can help and will update this review with my findings. Update 2/8/19: The company contacted me before I could reach them to suggest a replacement! There is excellent customer service. I asked them about purchasing a spare brown cable (I always need extra on hand). They said they don't sell the brown wire separately but the red one was sent free. Firmly. No problem with changing cables. I just think mine is bad. I haven't received my replacement headphones yet but will update my review when I do. Update 2/13/19: I received my replacement headphones a few days ago, about half the time they rated! Unfortunately the wrong ones were sent. I got the cheaper Pro-10s instead of the Pro-30s I originally bought. I took a picture and emailed the company and got a response within minutes. They apologized for the mistake and immediately sent me a replacement Pro 30s. They told me to get off the Pro-10 and enjoy it. Fantastic customer service and I'm upgrading my original 3 star rating to 4 just because OneAudio is doing so well. Since I'm going to try Pro-10 I'll go ahead and review them and report back. I will also update this review when I get a replacement Pro 30 and spend some more time with it. Updated 02/26/19. So I received a replacement Pro 30 just a few days after OneAudio shipped it. Very up to date. They work great. There are no problems with drivers and cables. I spend more time with them; Create music, listen to music, prepare tracks for DJing, view media and listen to podcasts. I appreciate her more and more. The wearing comfort is unbelievable. The sound quality of the large 50mm driver is very good and particularly convincing for the price. They are clear enough for critical listening but not fatiguing, which is unusual. The warmth and richness of the mids is really pleasing, and the tightness of the bass is a treat. The highs are a little on tune, and while they're crisp, they're not shiny, magical highs if that's what you're into. The positive side of this is that you can listen to these phones for hours and your ears won't get tired. OneAudio was great to deal with and showed a real commitment to customer service. The 24 month warranty is very generous and they really support it. You definitely deserve my future business. I've increased my rating from 4 to 5 stars for the replacement kit and for OneAudio's customer service. Update 02/01/20: A year later I still love these headphones to the beat, still enjoy listening to them and still using them. My AKGs are still gathering dust. I've since bought a pair of Nuraphones, which retail for $400, and I still reach for my OneOdios when I'm gaming, lounging on the couch, watching Netflix, or observing how tracks would sound on mid-range consumer headphones. They don't sound like my nuras, but they're still a pleasure to listen to and the level of comfort is second to none. The ear pads only got better as they got used to them. I wasn't gentle with them at all and they persevered. If you're looking for comfortable, expensive headphones with good sound, I still recommend them and would happily compare them to $100 headphones. excellent universal working headphones.
