I would say that this is a good watercolor paper. It's 100% cotton, so it fits well and dries quickly. It rises very well, so if you are a beginner or make a mistake, you can use a paper towel to correct it. It is very durable and meets all the requirements of a professional watercolor paper. This paper works well with gouache. This paper is good for watercolor beginners and will help them tell the difference between high quality cotton paper and inferior pulp paper. However, it's just not for me. I use a cold press and a heat press and I love the depth that the cold press texture gives, but this texture doesn't work well with my drawing style. I've attached some photos to show the texture. It doesn't really improve my painting, it's just the pattern you see all over the paper. Again, this is just my personal opinion. Nevertheless, you can make great works of art out of it, as you can see in my last picture.
