Less than a year old and stuck on update

The device came new and was successfully registered on their website, I did the update and it worked except I installed it recently and it prompted me has to perform an update. When I press ESC it restarts and I go back to the update screen, when I press OK it says "Error writing header file!" I checked all the youtube sites on the web for a similar problem , but couldn't find it. Maybe I got a defective version? I have others that I have bought from Amazon for over 3 years and they still work fine. Please take a look, I'll update the rating based on the answer I get later.
