Review on Wink Smart Home Hub by Tim Ram

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Do not buy this or Wink Hub 2

After selling the hub as a no-subscription product, they turn around and tell everyone with just a week's notice that if we don't start paying horribly inflated subscription fees every month, everything will be shut down - midway through a global pandemic. In addition, there hasn't been any hardware available for more than a year, the service is becoming less and less reliable and there are significantly more powerful and cheaper competing products. In fact, Vera offered to help port it to their system, as well as provide a free hub and update the hub every two years, all for 2/5 the price Wink is trying to charge. Stay away. Even if you bought the hardware and were willing to pay exorbitant subscription fees, I'm not sure you'll be served very long. All loyal Wink customers so far have left or are leaving as soon as possible. The company would die in a few months, just running away with the monthly subscription fee it could extort from its customers, who were forced to pay a month to have time to switch to another product.
