I am using this split tube to repair a wiring harness on a mid 90's car where the original tube is cracked and falling apart at the top of the engine where the ignition components remain . I cut out a small sample of 3/8" pipe and heated it to a surface temperature of about 220 degrees F for 30 minutes. After this exposure, the pipe completely collapsed (see first picture). I then cut out another small pattern and lowered the surface temperature to about 200 degrees F for 30 minutes. The second sample shows some signs of warping and melting, but to a much more acceptable level (see second image) heat exposure, but starts off at about 210 degrees to warp as I plan to use this pipe for the project but I will check that it doesn't come into contact with very hot components in the engine compartment.nt. This product is made in China.
