I have 2 red ones. Since it gets dark much later at this time of year, I travel a lot at night. I like them and they are bright and true red. You can see 2 LEDs in the case/body/thing - something like 2 dots. Luckily they're not in my line of sight, so it's not that big of a problem. They're relatively cheap, but I still think the price premium is probably crazy. In the end if you had a few bucks I would agree.
