This is not cheap alfalfa hay so I was dismayed at the size of the box when it arrived. I didn't need it as we are running low - after 8 weeks. They really box it up so you get more than you think (compared to a big box of alfalfa hay). You definitely get value for money. I went back today to get a subscription because this stuff is WAY BETTER than store bought. The quality is excellent, the hay is very fresh. It is weed-free, light green, smells good, and is free from foreign odors, mold, or mold stains. I have terrible allergies (which the guinea pig in the house doesn't like!) but this hay doesn't give me asthma like dusty store-bought alfalfa. And although there are wisps and random pieces of plant material, there is very little dust. We use a tiny wooden hay keeper to keep the hay in and out of the shavings and droppings area.
