Quality Stone - Hand Tools

I purchased this whetstone as a set with my set of colored knives. I thought it was a bit pricey but ordered it anyway, thinking if you have knives you should probably order this whetstone. It arrived very quickly and was of very good quality. It even has rubber feet to keep it in place when you use it wet. Before use, it is necessary to soak the whetstone in water for about 15 minutes until it no longer absorbs water. Then your knife is moved back and forth over the whetstone at an angle of about 10-15 degrees to the knife blade. The blade regains its original sharpness or better in a very short time. It is recommended to use a 70-80 percent larger sharpening stone on the side of the hand being used. This means if you are right handed then sharpen that side 70-80% more than the left side and vice versa if you are left handed. I use a ripe tomato to test the spiciness. Overall I would say that this sharpening stone is an inexpensive tool that does its job very well.
