Review on Denon S650H 5.2 Channel AV Receiver, 4K UHD Home Theater Surround Sound (2019) with Music Streaming, HEOS Built-in, eARC, Upgraded HDCP by Becky Guyer

I bought this model as an outgoing model at a good price. The modern DAC was an instant improvement over my 10 year old receiver. I use 3.2 for movies and 2.2 for music. It has enough power for my listening room. The S650H pairs well with my respective Pioneer SP-FS51+ center channel speakers and can drive them well above noise levels for extended periods without tiring listening, with one caveat. Playing it loud will result in lower quality source material and you'll experience some listening fatigue, which is to be expected. If you have high quality digital files and are using the digital inputs, or if you are using a high quality turntable with an analog input, it will sound great for hours. I ran Audyssey Room Correction and found the results to be good. A couple of times while listening to a stereo source I had to get up and check to make sure the center channel wasn't on because the stereo image is so good it looks like it's on. Audyssey doesn't work for everyone and doesn't work for every room, but it worked great for my setup and room. There are other controls for manually adjusting the sound if you'd rather do it that way. This is a great outgoing call model if sound is what matters most to you. The unit has its fair share of bells and whistles, some implemented better than others, but I give it 5 stars because it captures what matters most to me, the sound.
