I found this to be a very unfriendly plug and play router. I don't do anything out of the ordinary with the network and have had nothing but issues with it. I've only ever ordered one Linksys router as I've never needed a lot of routers plus I think 1 year and then throw them away. I decided to spend some extra money and try to get a router that works a little better since we have multiple devices on the network. Here's the problem with this router for the average network person: Poor signal strength. Compared to the other three routers I had in the same house, this one has a much worse range. Nothing has changed since the switch (no additional microwave ovens, network objects, etc.). After setting up the router for the first time using advanced settings, I had issues with several devices dropping WiFi, or the quality may have suffered. I used the setup wizard. Worked for about a day, then the same problems started. If I did a reboot it would work fine for a few hours and then have problems again. I've tried all sorts of things to find out. As a result, turning off 5gh all together and switching 2.4 to a specific channel helped. However, I lose the 5GH connection and there are still some quality issues. Unlike Linksys where the router almost completely fails and then needs to be restarted (time to buy a new one), with this router 1/2 the devices will work until a few devices work until a reboot. Complete failure of the WLAN mobile phone. It's possible my wife had issues with Wi-Fi before purchasing this router, but Wi-Fi doesn't work on her phone. It's very strange that it happened at the same time. Wi-Fi is on, but the phone cannot successfully get the credentials. Again maybe the phone. Bottom line: As you can see I got this out of the box and if I'm trying to connect 6 devices over a high speed connection do I really have to spend hours fumbling around and reading the forums? I do not think so. It is highly recommended to switch to a different router.
