Switch to another router

I found this to be a very unfriendly plug and play router. I don't do anything out of the ordinary with the network and have had nothing but issues with it. I've only ever ordered one Linksys router as I've never needed a lot of routers plus I think 1 year and then throw them away. I decided to spend some extra money and try to get a router that works a little better since we have multiple devices on the network. Here's the problem with this router for the average network person: Poor signal…

Pros
  • Full gigabit ports for maximum transfer speed, IPv6 capable
Cons
  • Empty

Didn't last. in routers

CONS:* Short lifespan* Cannot import configuration from previous generation TP-Link routers* Limited number of DHCP assignments * Many clicks for advanced configuration instead of bulk input. PROS: * Easy to use interface for simple configurations * Works well when it works. * Performance is good * Range is very good, penetrating walls and obstacles. Everything was fine for the first 7 months. The range is good and the configuration is the same as previous TP-Link routers. Not the best, but…

Pros
  • Provides 800+ Mbps blazing fast WAN-LAN throughput with hardware NAT
Cons
  • Long latency

I tried this router

I tried this router. The feature set and specs are good for the price and would be a good upgrade for my 10 year old router which I am currently using until I find a suitable replacement. I only use wireless for 4 Android phones, a tablet, a Windows laptop (now wired) and a Fire Stick. I've connected most wired devices to the network (Roku, PC) as it really is the best option in terms of speed and reliability. The wired portion of this router was solid, but the wireless connection left a lot to

Pros
  • Built-in media server allows users to share music, videos and photos with Windows Media Player, PS3 or X BOX 360
Cons
  • Bad experience
