Review on TP-Link N600 TL-WDR3600 Dual Band Wi-Fi Router - Unleash Seamless Wireless Connectivity by Derrick Shah

I tried this router

I tried this router. The feature set and specs are good for the price and would be a good upgrade for my 10 year old router which I am currently using until I find a suitable replacement. I only use wireless for 4 Android phones, a tablet, a Windows laptop (now wired) and a Fire Stick. I've connected most wired devices to the network (Roku, PC) as it really is the best option in terms of speed and reliability. The wired portion of this router was solid, but the wireless connection left a lot to be desired. Signal strength is poor on both 2.4 and 5 GHz. Wireless connections keep dropping and require reboots almost every day. I've tried updating the firmware (unsuccessfully), I've even tried DDWRT, and although the more stable version still hasn't completely fixed the disabled WiFi issue. 26-12-2016, This router gets two extra stars. turned wifi off and used it for qos and to update ip with open dns using DDWRT. You can fix a dropped wireless connection that requires a reboot by using the keep-alive feature to reboot your router daily. 3 stars if you are familiar with or want to learn how to install 3rd party firmware.
