This heater does the job perfectly in my 700 gallon aquaponic aquarium. I sincerely regret not purchasing this item first and not the three EHEIM Jager Aquarium Thermostat 300W aquarium heaters I originally purchased. Since two of the three thermostats on the Jagerheaters had failed, I had already set up an Inkbird controller to turn the two failed Jagers on and off. Even at full power, they couldn't keep the tilapia tank at 74 degrees in 30 degree weather. I replaced one of the 300w heaters with this 800w item. This heater, along with the two remaining 300W elements, keeps the tank at 74 degrees even when the outside temperature is below 20 degrees.
