Review on Hood Release Handle Assembly - Ford Fusion & Lincoln MKZ 2013-2016: Enhanced SEO by Russell Wong

Did the job (Ford Fusion 2013)

Perfect fit to replace the broken one. A tip: Two people are required to open the hood without a handle. While the person in the car pulls the cable under the dash (with quite a bit of force), the other person pushes on the two front corners of the hood (you won't reach the corners, just spread your arms and give him a short one). , strong push). This should unlock the hood to secure so we can open it. Installation - on this car at least there are two latches under the hood so the cable coming from that handle under the dash goes into the "splitter" under the hood. Hood near the front corner. Open the splitter and disconnect the main cable under the dashboard. The slack this creates makes it very easy to hook the other end onto the new handle when installing. After everything is installed inside, simply hook the other end into the mechanism inside the splitter. Grease - the original handle broke for some reason and from the way we forced the hood open I suspect it was the sticky latch mechanism (or 2). Therefore, to prevent recurrence (or immediate breakage of a new handle), we used silicone lubricant in the form of a spray for mechanisms. So far so good - still working perfectly after a few months.
