Listing shows it should fit Mazda6 2008 2.3 Narrow. Federal Edition (OEM part number L3901335E). The top connectors/fittings look the same, unfortunately they don't work on this car. If you look at two photos of the pumps side by side, the problem lies in the placement of what appears to be a leakage check valve. The original pump has it on the front, the new pump has it on the left, just above one of the black hoses. If you put the tank in and try to compress the spring, the black hose will hit the drain valve, preventing it from falling further. It must be compressed an additional 1.5 to 2 inches to seat and install the locking ring.
