The product is basically easy to assemble. I had the issue that others have mentioned where the holes for the actual license plate bracket were misaligned (US license plate). To fix this, I first put the top two license plate screws in, but didn't tighten everything enough to still move the plate. I then had to slip a finger between the plate and the mounting bracket on the side to bend the plate slightly, essentially prying the bottom holes of the plate to get the screws in. Then I tightened all four screws. You'll hardly notice that the plate is bent so this shouldn't be a problem, it's just frustrating that you have to do this to get the screws in.
