When my 2007 Toyota 4Runner had about 50,000 miles on it and I fitted an external transmission oil cooler (V6 not included) I decided it would be a good idea to change the transmission filter. . This kit fits the same as the OEM, both filter and gasket. Now that I've changed the filter once, I'll probably never have to change it again, as it's really only there to filter out the larger metal particles that *should* only fall out of your transmission during initial wear.
