Review on O'Neill Men's O'Riginal 2mm Back Zip Sleeveless 🌊 Spring Wetsuit: Ultimate Comfort and Flexibility for Water Sports Enthusiasts by David Edwards

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It is very comfortable to swim, but does not warm around the upper body.

I swam in Escape from Alcatraz which resulted in me swimming in 56Β°F seawater for about 45 minutes. It's definitely comfortable and doesn't rub your neck or armpits. I could swim with this forever. However, because of the "bib" design, all seawater flows right around your torso, like an air intake on an F-16. It might as well just be a pair of swim sweaters. The upper part does not warm at all when swimming. Probably suitable for surfing, no idea - I haven't tried it. The other swimmers wore long sleeve wetsuits and were fine. I was freezing. (Others did it in swimming trunks, but they were, shall we say, "better built” than me.) I ended up buying a full-sleeve wetsuit because of the cold, but of course on the first swim (despite a lot of body gliding). it was still rubbing my neck. But I was very warm, FWIW.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive
