>> Best! Please read to understand why some of the reviews are bad! Size matters!

I have had over 15 of these plugs in the last 40 years and have nothing but good things to say about them. There are some negative reviews complaining about the cost and the fake stopper so let's get into that. Firstly, Le Creuset is a French company and as such their cork sizes were designed to fit real champagne bottles - French champagne bottles are a very specific size! This stopper is for everyone. Sparkling wines from other regions of France also fit into these sizes, so this cork will fit them too. I drink mostly Italian Prosecco - it works best with this cork (maybe 1 doesn't). Champagne bottle sizes vary across the map, including screw caps, so this can be a problem (it's best to use a model with two handles hanging down the edges). Le Creuset kitchen utensils are expensive but durable. lifelong and are usually passed from generation to generation (many years ago I gifted my daughter my nearly $2,000 Le Creuset enameled cast iron cookware set of casseroles and bakeware). My Le Creuset corks are over 40 years old and still work. During this time I had 1 failure - after decades, the swivel arm pin fell out. So, 40 years at $40 is a dollar a year! Many other kitchen appliances don't last 10 years before they have problems. I believe that owning and giving away so many devices that I have had for so long would offer a different perspective than those less experienced with this product. If you are looking for quality, this is the cork for you. If you drink standard champagne bottles, this cork is for you. Everything else, use a variation of the drop down lever!. Best regards.m
