Deserves some hugs from my grumpy teenage sister

Update: Six months later it's still intact, although she uses it less now that the summer heat has really kicked in. She even dropped one of the cups - she apparently had a minor stroke, but it bounced off the wooden floor and everything was fine. ----Bought as a gift for a younger sister who is just beginning to appreciate tea. The heater works so well I even bought a cast iron version for my own kettle. Insulated mugs are also beautiful from an aesthetic and practical point of view; The tea stays warm and the smaller portions allow you to feel the change in the tea as it takes longer to brew until you remove the diffuser. She quickly realized that she liked to drink different types of tea. She loves to brag about it, especially after we found a $2.50 glass serving tray at a thrift store. Apparently it's very "Instagram". It looks incredibly fragile and based on the reviews I advised her to always support the lid and be careful with the diffuser when pouring. After two weeks of almost daily use by a 15 year old, it's still in perfect condition - so fragile or not that a little care seems to go a long way. While I'm very happy with my current teapot, I've considered getting a set simply because even a plain chamomile tea with a sprig or two of mint looks great in a glass, let alone flowering teas.

Pros
  • Easy to brew loose tea. Simply put the tea in the inner cup and add some water, then the inner cup will dispense the infused tea directly into the outer teapot.
Cons
  • Exorbitant Piggy Bank
