I installed a remote gate opener for a double leaf gate with a 10w solar charger on a dual battery pack. Possibly because it was only in the sun for part of the day, the 10-watt battery just couldn't keep the battery charged, even with minimal use. I added this 30 watt device in series with the 10 watt device, best spot for the sun about 80 feet away, and ran a low voltage line to the gate controller. Now everything is stable and I had no problems with this panel providing the necessary charge.
