Excellent artist tool

For creative people, there are so many uses for a lightbox: animation, comics, tattoo tracing, quilting, photography, etc. I recently had the opportunity to test a lightbox Huion offers: their A2 Light Pad . When you open the box, you get a light bar, power adapter, instruction manual, and a nice little clip to attach paper to the bar. The Huion A2 Light Pad is beautifully designed. The lighting made of acrylic panels and LED lighting is bright and even. The work surface is smooth and there are numbered scales on both sides for leveling your work. Huion A2 Light Pad with a large working area of 12.6 x 20.5 inches is the largest model that Huion offers. With a sleek design and weighing just over 6 pounds, you can easily take it anywhere. However, the lighting of this device is the really amazing part. Once you plug in the power adapter, you will see a red glow indicating the device has power. And just by touching the power button, the control panel lights up instantly. By holding your finger on the button, you get a gradual increase in light intensity (and it really is gradual, not increments). Likewise, repeated touching and holding will gradually lower it. According to Huion, LED bulbs can last up to 50,000 hours. The surface is pleasant to work with and even after several hours of use I have found that it emits very little heat. As I mentioned earlier, a lightbox has many uses. I personally love frame-by-frame animation and recently discovered that sand on a lightbox creates some really unique looks and animation possibilities. So I played around with the sand a bit with a light pad and found it worked fantastic. For this purpose, however, I would recommend putting something like a clear cover sheet or glass on the device first, as sand can scratch the acrylic surface. Whatever the use I think this is a great product. It's light enough to take anywhere, with even, adjustable lighting and convenient operation.
